Samantha Ruth Prabhu Confirms First Pregnancy; Baby Due in December 2026

June 24, 2026

Actress Samantha Ruth Prabhu has confirmed that she is expecting her first child, bringing a joyful close to weeks of speculation. Her spokesperson confirmed to ETimes that she and filmmaker Raj Nidimoru are expecting, with the baby due in December 2026.

The news arrives at a doubly happy moment for the actress, who is also celebrating a successful return to the screen. She is currently basking in the success of her latest film, Maa Inti Bangaaram, while preparing to embrace motherhood for the first time. The film, directed by Nandini Reddy, released in theatres on 18 June 2026 and features Samantha alongside Gulshan Devaiah and Diganth Manchale.

Speculation had begun a few days earlier. Rumours started after a video from the film’s success celebrations went viral, in which Samantha appeared in a fitted light-blue T-shirt and denims with a visible baby bump, prompting fans to conclude that she was expecting.

The actress herself addressed the matter directly while speaking to the media at the event. She confirmed the pregnancy and indicated that she would take a maternity break once her current commitments were complete, before returning with another film. The film’s director added her own warm note, describing the timing as beautiful given that the pregnancy had coincided with the success of Maa Inti Bangaaram.

This will be the first child for both. Samantha and Raj Nidimoru married in a private Bhuta Shuddhi Vivaha ceremony at the Linga Bhairavi Devi temple within the Isha Yoga Centre in Coimbatore in December last year. The two are understood to have grown close while collaborating on The Family Man 2, in which Samantha played the role of Raji, and later reunited professionally on Citadel: Honey Bunny in 2024. Samantha was earlier married to actor Naga Chaitanya.

For an actress whose recent years have been marked by well-documented health struggles, the announcement has been met with an outpouring of warmth from fans and the film fraternity alike.
